Deepening NVC as a Lifelong Practice – A Community for Parents
29 April @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Have you been deeply inspired by Nonviolent Communication (NVC), but struggled to sustain it in your daily family life?
Perhaps you recall the sense of euphoria after your first workshop, only to feel disheartened as old habits returned. Thoughts like, “NVC is too idealistic” or “I’m just not good at it” may have quietly snuck in.
We’ve been there too—delighting in the transformative power of NVC one moment and feeling discouraged the next when our intentions fell short. What we’ve learned is this: without regular practice in a supportive community, it’s easy to feel stuck.
Marshall Rosenberg’s words reiterate this:
“The only way to learn NVC is to practice, practice, practice.”
We Parents Need to Be Held Too
With constant demands and little space for our own needs, parenting often feels overwhelming. And lonely. Yet we were never meant to parent alone. We evolved in tribal societies where child-rearing and emotional regulation were shared responsibilities. Modern isolation from extended family and community undermines this natural support system, leaving us people—especially us parents—without the emotional and practical help we need.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) has shown us a pathway to more authentic, compassionate connection. But it’s not a tool to be mastered in isolation. It lives and breathes in community.
As Marshall Rosenberg wrote:
“We can only really give in a loving way to the degree that we are receiving similar love and understanding. That’s why I strongly recommend that we look at how we might create a supportive community for ourselves… who can give us the understanding we need to be present to our children in a way that will be good for them and good for us.”
To show up for our children with empathy and presence, we need spaces where we are received with empathy and presence.
We need places where we can be real.
Where we can fall apart and be heard.
Where we can practice, reflect, and begin again.
That’s why we’re creating a space where you can continue deepening your NVC practice with support and guidance. We want to offer you a chance to stay committed and connect with others who are on the same journey.
What We Offer
We’re building a space where parents can integrate NVC into their daily family life. Our goal is to make it easy for you to access ongoing support, with bite-sized content that fits into your busy life. Here’s our initial offering:
- Monthly Live Calls: These sessions provide a chance to connect in real-time, ask questions, and explore key NVC topics with fellow parents.
- Weekly Content: Each month, you’ll receive new, practical content to help deepen your understanding and application of NVC in family life. This content is designed to be actionable and impactful, so it’s easy to incorporate into your daily routine.
- A Supportive Space for Sharing and Learning: Our community is a place where you can share your experiences, ask questions, and learn from others walking a similar path.
- Practice Buddies: You’ll be paired with a practice buddy to ensure accountability and consistent application of NVC principles, while also gaining mutual support.
